Kano pensioners protest death of 300 members

Nothing less than 1,000 pensioners under the aegis of All Federal Pensioners in Kano State on Thursday protested the death of 300 of their colleagues as a result of non-payment of their 33 per cent pension arrears for 42 months.
The protest took place on the premises of Bayero University, Kano, the state capital.
In a statement by its spokesperson, Malam Muhammad Isa, the group said the victims included retired workers from BUK; Federal College of Education, Kano; Dala Orthopaedic Hospital; Federal College of Education, Bichi; Aminu Kano Teaching Hospital, and Nigeria Television Authority, Kano.
While describing the activities of the Pension Transitional Arrangement Directorate as fraudulent, the protesters passed a vote of no confidence in  anybody.
Isa said, “We have no confidence in PTAD because it said it was going to pay us six months’ arrears but when we received alerts, it was our normal monthly pension.
“You will be surprised to hear that the text message PTAD was sending to us indicated that the payment was supposed to be the 33 per cent arrears, whereas it was not so. This is a fraud of the highest order and we want President Muhammadu Buhari to investigate this and ensure prompt payment.”

  2. The next time I learn a weblog, I hope that it doesnt disappoint me as much as this one. I mean, I do know it was my choice to read, however I actually thought youd have something attention-grabbing to say. All I hear is a bunch of whining about something that you could fix for those who werent too busy in search of attention.
